My Television Press Pass for WNBC-TV.
Of course, thanks to the best, Bruce Beck.

The Yanks Dugout today!
***Bruce is getting me the picture he took of me on the bench.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was obviously an amazing day for Mikey Martin. I got to experience the first of many Media days at the Ballpark. I met the players, announcers, reports and worked Media/TV for NBC Sports New York with Bruce Beck.

Recap:
Swish is the man, a nut
Kevin Burkhardt is even nicer than how he seems on TV
Jeter and Granderson are extremely respectful people and very nice
Yogi Berra is and always will be THE man!

Player-Led Workouts

In a normal year, most NFL teams would be starting their minicamps right now. With the lockout in effect, some players have taken the initiative to organize workouts on their own, with varying degrees of success.

  • Albert Haynesworth: 15 reps of breakfast
  • Buffalo Bills: Ryan Fitzpatrick organized a specialized passing practice at his house, during which teammates could come over and teach him how to properly throw the ball
  • Arizona Cardinals: Larry Fitzgerald invited several top players from different teams to work out at his Arizona compound, where he organized drills and begged them to sign with the Cardinals
  • San Fransisco 49ers: QB Alex Smith has been throwing to receivers Josh Morgan and Ted Ginn, though neither of them have caught any passes and both have repeatedly told him to get out of their homes
  • Tennessee Titans: TE Craig Stevens started working out at a nearby high school but was asked to leave about 20 minutes later
  • Chicago Bears: Defensive players practiced their team fundamentals by having linebacker Lance Briggs hit the tackling dummies while linebacker Brian Urlacher got all the credit
  • Kansas City Chiefs: Just holding regular offseason workouts as usual, because who pays any attention to the Chiefs?
  • Nobody: Working their asses off in negotiations so there can actually be some fucking football this year
I am not THIS funny. I got this @

WVU and NBA Great Jerry West (NBA Logo Sillouet) Lands Job with Warriors

CONGRATS WVU LEGEND

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Golden State Warriorshave hired Jerry West to join the franchise's front office in an advisory role and be a member of the executive board.

The Warriors announced Friday that West will work with the basketball operations staff and the business arm of the team. He will report directly to owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber.

The Hall of Famer was a 14-time All-Star with the LA Lakers and the inspiration for the NBA's logo. West also spent 18 seasons as the Lakers' general manager and seven in Memphis' front office.

He will be part of a new staff charged with leading the Warriors back to the playoffs after making the postseason only once since 1994. Golden State is also searching for a new coach after Keith Smart's contract was not renewed.

Mets On The Rise

Gee with the W!
Dillon Gee is now 3-0 with a 3.44 ERA (4.44 before today) after going 8.2 innings, the most innings in his career, with another great save by Frankie Rodriguez.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After starting off just 5-13, the New York Mets are now just one game under .500 at 21-22. The Mets have won16 of the last 25 and have gone 6-2 in the last 8

Izzy has the best holds to innings ratio : 10 holds / 14 innings (second most holds) while K-Rod has the 2nd most saves (14) in the majors after 9 straight

We are missing Wright, Davis, Johan, Parnell, Young and Pagan and we are still in striking distance

MLB Predictions ... over 75%!

With around 44 games into the MLB season and I've correctly picked around 6 of the 8 Division Winners (done on March 31st) ... The ones I have lost are the Redsoxs because they've had a slump and the rough losses in the White Soxs games. Hope the Red and White Soxs can step it up all the way up until the post season. If anyone can rebound its the Redsoxs as they inched their way up to over .500 after a garbage start. Not to mention the Whitesoxs are chasing the Indians so we'll see how long their wins will last.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MLB Shockers ***(Bold=Bad Shocks)
Indians, A's, Marlins (even though I called it), Twins and the O's

The Indians and A's are flying with W's as the Marlins sweep in under the Phillies in the NL East. The NL East is talented and we'll see how that pans out. The O's (19-21) are looking good and thats not as much shocking to me because I wanted to see that but, it's definitely a good sight!
Twins are GARBAGE so far...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mets have won their last 3 (split the last) series so they can make a run too, that would really be the icing on my prediction's cake.

Goin back to work at NBC, enjoy the Bulls and Canucks game tonight, I'll check in sometime tonight or tomorrow.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonight's Predictions: Mets Heat O's Sharks

Mets are gonna smack Washington even though they are filled w/ injured players.

I also love the bulls but have to pick the Heat because I can't see them loosing 2 in a row.

I picked the O's over the Yanks because Britton is dirty, if he's in for a while, yanks are gonna be 1-7 ! Sorry Yankee fans :(

I picked the Sharks because I don't follow the West too well and I like the Sharks as a team than I do of the Canucks.
